Some Fun Facts About Vanessa
Where were you born / Where did you grow up? I was born and raised on the Gold Coast before moving to Brisbane.
What did you love to do as a kid? I loved watching and singing along to Disney movies.
What is your favourite food? I absolutely love sushi!
Where is your favourite holiday destination? Taiwan will always be my favourite holiday destination. I lived there for a year to learn Mandarin, so it holds a special place in my heart and always feels nostalgic to visit.
Where in the world would you like to go where you haven’t been before? I’d love to visit Africa to go on a safari and see the wildlife. I love travelling, so I’m honestly open to visiting almost anywhere. I’ve been to around 17 countries so far, and I’m always excited to explore somewhere new.
Tell us an interesting fact about you. I love singing, dancing and being involved in community theatre musicals. I’ve had the opportunity to perform in shows including The Little Mermaid, Cats and Jekyll & Hyde, among others.
Vanessa is a passionate Physiotherapist with experience working across paediatric, community and rehabilitation settings. She completed her Bachelor of Physiotherapy (First Class Honours) at The University of Queensland and is a member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA).
Vanessa has experience supporting children and young people with a range of developmental, neurological and physical disabilities through assessment and intervention across clinic, home, school and community environments. She has worked across both land-based and acquatic physiotherapy settings, collaborating closely with children, families, educators, support staff and multidisciplinary teams to deliver goal-focused and family-centred care. Vanessa has also facilitated gross motor group programs, supporting children to develop movement skills, coordination, balance and strength.
More recently, Vanessa has worked as a community physiotherapist through a hospital service, supporting clients across post-acute care, outpatient rehabilitation, NDIS and My Aged Care settings. This has broadened her clinical experience across a variety of presentations and environments.
Vanessa has a particular passion for paediatrics, with special interests in early intervention and supporting children with neuromuscular presentations. She enjoys building strong relationships with children and families and creating positive, engaging therapy experiences. Vanessa is passionate about helping children achieve their goals, build confidence and participate in the activities they enjoy.
